Yvonne originally studied Fine Art, graduating from DIT Mountjoy Square in 2004. After exploring jewellery making through a number of short courses in NCAD & FÁS she launched her first jewellery business in 2006.  This was based in The Loft Market in Powerscourt Townhouse, Dublin, selling beaded and silver jewellery.  In 2009 she closed her business to enrol in the two year DCCI Jewellery Skills Course in Kilkenny.  While studying in Kilkenny, she also worked with JMK Goldsmiths, where she remained for a number of years after graduating.

After receiving a Future Maker’s Education Grant in 2011, Yvonne completed a Diamond Diploma with The Gemmological Association of Great Britain.  The following year, Yvonne received the Company of Goldsmiths of Dublin Award in the RDS Craft Awards and has more recently been awarded the Kilkenny Chamber of Commerce Crafts Person of the Year Award in 2015 & 2018.  In 2014 Yvonne launched Yvonne Ross Jewellery, opening her Studio/Showroom on Rose Inn Street, Kilkenny in 2015.
