Klaus Hartmann
I believe well-crafted functional objects can enhance our daily lives. The pots I make are designed with that in mind. I am driven by the urge to make, influenced and inspired by different craft processes, tools, materials and objects.
Most of my pieces start on the potter’s wheel and finished by firing them in a wood-fuelled kiln. This gives them a distinctive, always varied warm quality. At the moment I really enjoy carving the smooth, wheel-thrown surfaces to create these very tactile pots.
