Gus has fifty years’ experience in the field of ceramics both as a professional maker running his own business and as an educator. Trained at Loughborough College of Art and Design he graduated with a BA hons degree in ceramics in 1976. He came to Ireland in 1990 to set up the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland’s ceramics skills course in Thomastown, County Kilkenny and was responsible for writing and delivering the course programme. He now works from his own studio in Ballyreddin, Bennettsbridge, County Kilkenny, producing a range of functional thrown porcelain and one-off pieces.
