Jerpoint Glass Studio is a family-run glassblowing studio located in the heart of Ireland's Ancient East in the beautiful countryside of County Kilkenny. Established in 1979 by Kathleen and Keith Leadbetter, Keith having trained in Orrefors Glass School in Sweden, and helped set up the Hot Glass Department in the National College of Art and Design. Jerpoint Glass creates a unique collection of handmade glass including wine glasses, bowls, jugs and vases. Using traditional techniques that have hardly changed over 2000 years. Jerpoint is instantly recognisable to those with an eye for design and craft. The character and personality of the artisan emanates from each piece combining everyday functionality with great design. The vibrant use of colour has made Jerpoint glassware recognisable across the globe. Rory Leadbetter, glassmaking for 18 years, is passionate about craftsmanship and continuing the family tradition, creating the Jerpoint range with fellow glassblower James Long who has been a crafts- man at Jerpoint for more than 38 years.
